What is FX?

FX is the shortened term used for ‘Foreign Exchange’, which relates to the currency market and the action of buying and selling different currencies. The foreign exchange market is the most liquid financial market in the world, and operates 24/5. Unlike other asset classes there is no central exchange, the result of which is a fragmented market place with numerous virtual venues to execute orders upon, all of which are closely by modern technology. Venues offer the ability to trade the most popular FX pairs such as EURUSD, through to the less liquid pairs such as USDZAR. Currencies are driven by both fundamental (market news) and technical (trends) factors, ensuring plenty of trading opportunities.
