The ADSS platform navigation includes:

  1. Products
  2. Watchlist (listed with Products on app)
  3. Insights
  4. Positions
  5. Orders
  6. History
  7. Account

Navigation

Your in-app experience keeps the navigation pinned to the bottom of the screen.

Selecting any of the options from the navigation fills your phone’s screen.

On the web experience, the navigation panel appears to the left of the main window, showing the platform’s menu and the different areas you can click to easily open / close from view.

The menu can be collapsed by clicking the Hide menu button located in the bottom left of the screen on web.

Products, Insights, and Watchlist will always open in the panel next to the main window.

Positions, Orders, and History default open in the blotter along the bottom of your web browser screen, enabling you to keep a focus on exploring new opportunities in the main window. These can be expanded and collapsed in and out of full screen view.

Products

This section shows all tradable products.

  • At the top of the Products tab there is a search functionality, a free text field enabling you to search for products by name or short code.
  • Alternatively, select an asset class to quickly filter the product list.

In the Product search pane:

Recently Viewed allows you to select the most recently viewed or traded products. Swipe across this to see more recently viewed products.

Selecting a product will populate the chart and product information in the main window, and in the web experience also auto-populate the Order Ticket in the right-hand panel.

  • When a product is tradable, a green dot symbol will appear next to the icon.
  • When the market is closed, a grey dot will appear.

Themes

The Themes section contains dynamic and curated watchlists, grouping together collections of popular products.

Top Gainers (top performing instruments of the day) and Top Losers (worst performing instruments of the day) update automatically.

The remaining themed watchlists are curated by the ADSS team, allowing you to track and discover different instruments in a variety of categories.

Watchlist

The watchlist feature enables you to keep a track of your favourite products.

In the app experience, either swipe to view additional pages on your watchlist, or select ‘See All’ to view all products in a single view.

On desktop, simply scroll down to see your full watchlist.

Adding Products to Watchlist

There are two easy methods to add products to your watchlist.

If your Watchlist is already open, select the plus + icon at the top of the screen. Use the product search toolbar or asset class filters to find your favourite products. Then just select the plus next to any product to add straight to your Watchlist.

Alternatively, after selecting a product to bring it into focus, click the star icon at the top of this page.

Edit / Remove Products from Watchlist

To edit or remove products in your Watchlist, tap on the 3 dots at the top of the Watchlist page. This will bring the Watchlist into an editing mode.

Tap the x next to any instrument to remove it from your Watchlist, and when finished select ‘Done’ at the top of the page.

Insights

The insights feature allows users to gain a deeper understanding of what’s happening in the markets, helping you make data-driven decisions.

In the app experience, you can go directly to Insights from the bottom navigation. Clicking on a news item will open a detailed news article with associated tradeable instruments tagged for quick access.

On a web browser, clicking Insights on the left-hand panel brings up general and product-related news, based on the product currently populating your order ticket.

Positions

Positions shows your live trades, grouped together by product.

All information related to your positions is shown in real time:

  • Product name and logo.
  • Overall trade and individual position size in a product.
  • Price at trade open.
  • Current market price.
  • Margin usage.
  • Open P&L.

You can add, edit, or remove stop loss and take profit orders directly from your Open Positions list.

In the app, we’ve made it easy to take quick, related actions when viewing your positions.

By selecting the three vertical dots – at either the individual positional level, or whole trade level – an options screen will slide up.

On the web version, it’s also possible to download your position data, customise columns, and go to full screen layout by using the options in the top right of the blotter.

Placing a Trade

We cover how to place a trade in the Placing a Trade (Market Order) section.

Closing a Trade

We cover how to edit and close open positions in the Closing a Position, and Additional Order Entry Options sections.

Orders

The Orders tab shows your current working orders, waiting to be triggered in market.

All information related to your working orders is shown in real time:

  • Product name and logo.
  • Date/Time the order was created.
  • Trade size in lots.
  • Latest market price.
  • Any linked orders, i.e., Stop Loss & Take Profit.
  • Order Expiry type.

Working Orders blotter

As with the Positions area of the platform, on the web version it’s possible to download your Working Orders data, customise columns, and expand the Working Orders.

Placing an Order

We cover how to place an order in the Placing a Working Order section.

Editing an Order

We cover how to edit a working order and submit a linked order (Stop Loss & Take Profit) in the Editing Working Orders and Additional Order Entry Options sections.

History

History allows you to view all activity on your account, including trading activity, cash transactions (deposits or withdrawals), P&L, and charges.

History section

Entries are sorted by date, with clear headings to identify different periods. Each entry has it’s own summary and detailed screen. Click on a specific entry to view the detailed page.

If one of your orders is only partially executed for any reason, this will be listed in the detail of the relevant trade in the History section.

Holding Cost in History

  • A Daily Funding Charge is applied to Cash CFDs that remain open at the end of each trading day, see our Schedule of Charges for more information.
  • This is referred to as Holding Cost in the History section and known as Overnight Financing Charge or Swap points.
  • This will be displayed in the History tab as a cash adjustment, either a deduction or addition depending on whether the relevant position is long or short. Swap Free accounts are currently not offered in the ADSS platform.

Investing in CFDs involves a high degree of risk that you will lose your money due to the use of leverage, particularly in fast moving markets, where a relatively small movement in the price can lead to a proportionately larger movement in the value of your investment. This can result in loses that exceed the funds in your account. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and you should seek independent advice if necessary.
