Launched in 2014 by Jed McCaleb, co-founder of Ripple, Stellar is designed to provide a fast, efficient, and cost-effective way to transfer money globally. The network uses a consensus mechanism called the Stellar Consensus Protocol, which is claimed to be more energy-efficient than traditional proof-of-work systems.

XLM serves multiple purposes within the Stellar ecosystem, including facilitating multi-currency transactions and paying network fees. The Stellar network allows for the creation of tokens representing various assets, including fiat currencies, potentially making it useful for remittances and micropayments. The value of XLM is influenced by the adoption of the Stellar network, partnerships with financial institutions, and overall trends in the cryptocurrency market. All cryptocurrencies are extremely volatile, and analysts are divided on their long-term value.

Investing in CFDs involves a high degree of risk that you will lose your money due to the use of leverage, particularly in fast moving markets, where a relatively small movement in the price can lead to a proportionately larger movement in the value of your investment. This can result in loses that exceed the funds in your account. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and you should seek independent advice if necessary.
